Kanifing United is a well-known team in the Serrekunda West Nawettan. It has been renowned for its fleet of cups it has whisked home over the years, but lady luck seemed not to be on their side this year.

The team failed to play their best just like in the previous years, sparking off their misfortune. The team which comprises talented players is facing qualification crises, after managing one win, a draw and two defeats in group A matches.

As the team is set to face bottom place GamPOP/FIFA in today’s clash as part of the final games of the first round, a victory for them will do a little to ensure them a spot in the second round.  Strong contenders like Ajax, and Gamstar are leading the group with 8 points each and can increase points in their weekend matches to be the lucky two from group A, into the second round. Another fellow contender Jarington is trailing behind with five points.

Gamstar and Ajax, the two group leaders will clock horns on Saturday, and a draw will safely send them into the next stage.
Pipe Line who are second from the bottom, with 3 points will take on Jarington. They at least need to pull out a point from this game to avoid relegation.
