As he renew his Call for USA

The leader of the Great Socialist Arab Jamahiriya and current Chairman of African Union, His Excellency Brother Muamar Al Gaddafi has reiterated his long-term call for African Unity, stressing that Africa must unite in order to achieve it goals and aspirations.

He added that Africans should not allow themselves to be colonised again by the so-called colonial masters, saying that Africa is the richest continent in the world. He noted that Africa has the needed human resource to develop the continent.

The AU’s Chairman made this comment last Thursday, while addressing thousands of Gambian youths at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, as part of his visit to the Gambia.

Libyan leader told thousands of cheering youths that Africa needs one passport, one currency and African integration for the benefit of the whole continent.

He further urged young people to distance themselves from illegal migration and stay and develop the African continent. Gaddafi said the youthful population has a role to play in the realisation of African unity and then urged them to join in the struggle for the United State of Africa.

Gaddafi strongly called on the ‘big powers’ to respect Africa and allow Africans to have a permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council, saying African voices should be heard at the international level.

The African Union boss revealed that Africa needs strong men and that Africa will never be slaves for the west. He implored youths to work hard to develop the Gambia and the African continent.

Speaking earlier on behalf of the Gambian youths, the Executive Secretary of the National Youths Council, Mr Marcel Mendy, said President Jammeh has the development of Africa and the youths at heart. He said President Jammeh has created the enabling environment to ensure that Gambian youths are given a wide range of opportunities to develop their potential.

Mr. Mendy said the development of Gambian youths depends on the viability and sustainability of certain aspects, if they are to develop their potential to the fullest.

As he put it, these include micro- finance schemes to encourage youth participation, infrastructural and facility development, youth participation in farming, youth leadership skills and capacity-building for institutions to effectively co-ordinate youth development programmes and activities, among others.

Almamy Taal, the Chairperson of the National Youth Council read the solidarity message, while Hon. Sheriff Gomez chaired the ceremony.

The occassion was graced by President Jammeh, Ministers, the Speaker of the National Assembly, services chiefs, as wells as other dignitaries.
