London Stars Finally Land in Banjul

The London Stars, a UK based football team composed of Somalians and Caribbean’s, yesterday arrived at the Banjul International Airport and were received by Malang Jassey, director of Youths and Sports together with the executive members of Steve Biko Football Club.

Speaking to Pointsports, Abdoukadan Hussen Boton, head of the London Stars delegation, said the team will play a series of test matches during their one-week stay in the country. He hailed The Gambia Football Association and Steve Biko FC for their hospitality.

Kemo Ceesay, an executive member of Steve Biko FC, said a test match between the London Stars and Steve Biko will take place tomorrow Thursday 29th January at the Independence Stadium in Bakau. He pointed out that the team will also meet The Gambia U-17 and Armed forces as part of preparing the two teams for their international competitions set to take place soon. The London Stars are currently lodged at the Independence Stadium Friendship Hotel in Bakau
