One Amadou Kah was last Friday convicted and sentenced to 5years' and 7months jail term for cattle rustling by Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh of Brikama Magistrates’ Court.
The convict was arraigned on two count charges of felony and cattle stealing, a charge he vehemently denied.
In a bid to prove its case beyond any reasonable doubt, the prosecution had called in four witnesses, all of whom testified against the convict.
In handing down his judgement, Presiding Magistrate Jammeh said after looking at the evidences of the prosecution witnesses and the testimony of the convict, he was convinced that the convict had committed the act.
According to Magistrate Jammeh, “any person charged with felony should be jailed for 7 years and cattle stealing for 5 years”.
