Medical Boost For Gunjur Health Centre

Gunjur Health Centre in Kombo South, Western Region recently benefited from a consignment of medical items, including drugs, beds, and weighing scale from Darboe Enterprises in collaboration with its friends in the UK.

The donation, which is part of Darboe Enterprises’ contribution towards the development of good health care system in Gunjur and its environs, was made possible through the efforts of Mrs Renata White, Mrs Yvonne Dingle, Mr Alan Cable and Lamin Darboe, all in the UK.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at Gunjur Health Centre, Kebba K. Barrow, a member of Gunjur Welfare Association, said the gesture is geared towards improving and developing the Health Centre. He applauded the donors for their valuable contribution towards good health care system in Gunjur.

Also speaking earlier, the proprietor of Darboe Enterprises, Omar N. Darboe said that this was not the first time the donors donated to the Health Centre. He expressed hope that the donors would continue to give more helping hand to the Health Centre in the near future.

He stated that the gesture would go a long way towards assisting the Health Centre in its work, noting that it they would strive to improve and develop the condition of the Health Centre.

For her part, the Officer-in-Charge of the Gunjur Health Centre, Haddy Gibba commended the donors for the benevolent gesture, while assuring them that the items would be put to good use.  

The presentation was graced by the staff of the Health Centre and a cross section of the community.
