Mercyship back again for free treatment

A surgical team from the Mercyship have arrived in The Gambia last Friday to offer free medical care for people.

The team will today Monday, March 2nd, 2009 be at the Polyclinic of the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital in Banjul, to begin humanitarian work offering free medication and treatment to patients of cleft lip and cleft palate, Daily Observer can reveal.

According to sources close to the Mercyship, the 21-member team, who arrived in the country from the United Kingdom consists of experts such as doctors, nurses and photographers amongst others. Sources also have it that the experts will be spending one month in The Gambia during which they will give out free operation to patients of cleft lip and cleft palate from 8am to 5pm on daily basis. Daily Observer will be on the ground to keep you inform about the treatment.
