Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, president of the Republic of The Gambia, continues to receive more congratulatory messages at State House, following his recent professorship award in the field of medicine and humanitarian services.
In a letter sent to the Gambian leader, Alhagie M Sarr of Banjul said: "Your Excellency, the recent international award accorded you in the field of Medicine and Humanitarian services once again indicates the good work and services that you are rendering to the people. It is also an international proof and recognition of your talent and potential to cure certain diseases, some of which are fatal and require huge sums of money for treatment, which many people can not afford.
Indeed, many poor people would have died of these killer diseases if it were not for your humanitarian and generous intervention, rendering free medical treatment to all regardless of race, color, tribe, nationality or religious denomination.
I now call on all Gambians to join me in congratulating you for the award and pray to Allah the Almighty to grant you good health to continue your humanitarian services for the benefit of mankind. May Allah bless you and your family and the entire Gambian people. Amen".
In the same vein, Momodou Salieu Jallow of Brikama Wellingara, Kombo Central, Western Region, wrote: "Alhamdoulilahi Rabil Alamina. Thanks to the Almighty Allah in whose power and wishes we again witnessed the Tobaskis of 2008. I hereby, with my very clean heart, extend my sincere prayers and good wishes to Your Excellency, Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh, the first family, your entire cabinet and the Gambian population, Allah’s blessing, guidance and many more Tobaskis to celebrate. Professor Dr Alhaji Yahya Jammeh, we cannot find the most suitable words to express our appreciation for the work done since Allah placed you over us, and for your good wishes, not only for The Gambia but for humanity as a whole.
Your sacrifice for the betterment of the country and its people will, by the grace of Allah, bear fruits. The award of professorship has been awarded to you by Allah since creation and it only became known now. I and my group of 450 members assure you, Your Excellency, of our commitment to your leadership in the name of Allah the Almighty.
Finally, we pray to Allah, in the name of the Holy Prophet, to give you long life, good health, and to guide you in your development aspirations for mankind. I, with my group members, are asking all Gambians to rally behind you in all sectors for the betterment of the country and its people.”
