When the case was called, the Police Prosecutor applied for the case to be transferred to Special Criminal Court of the High Court, which was accordingly granted.

Meanwhile, Ms. Foon, who is yet to take her plea, is being remanded in custody by the trial magistrate.

According to the charge sheet, Isatou Foon on or about 16th September 2009, at Palma Rima Beach side in the Kanifing Municipality, murdered her daughter by strangling her into the sea.
