Mustapha Jarju proving unstoppable in Belgium

Gambia and RAEC Mons-Bergen crafted forward, Mustapha Jarju, is proving unstoppable in the Belgian Premier League.

Toubabo, as he is fondly called by his comrades, scored a vital equaliser for his Mons side in their 2-2 home draw with Zulte-Waregem on Saturday.
It was Jarju’s third goal in three successive league matches as he extends his total tally to five goals in sixteen league matches.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through S. Meert, but the Gambian cancelled out the lone goal advantage less than sixty second with a fascinating finish from the edge of the box.

The stubborn visitors went ahead to take the lead again thanks to Coppin’s 65th minute strike, but it took Algerian Mohamed Dahmane 54th minute goal, which emanated from a spot kick, to end the entertaining encounter at 2-2.

The draw result did not however make much impact on struggling RAEC Mons’ standings on the table. Mons presently sit at 14th position in the 18-team league table with 15 points - 16 points adrift of leaders Club Brugge KV and only five points ahead of bottom side KSV Roeselare.
