National ICT Clubs Network Project to be Launched

The Freedom Camp International FCI, a charity based organization in the country will on March 28th launch its Information, Communication and Technology ICT project for students in The Gambia.

According to Mr. Abdoulie Drammeh, Communication Officer of FCI, the project aims to work with students to promote ICT and Media education nationwide.

The official launching he revealed would be held at the KMC Chambers Conference Hall in Kanifing.

Mr. Victor O. Akuegbonwu, project coordinator of FCI, said the project is to facilitate information communication and networking in the interest among students, Youths, teachers and communities. He added that the project will include supporting dialogues, ensuring access to information, and appropriate policy-making, and facilitating decision making and the creation of local, national, regional and international alliance.

He added that during the project it’s expected that participants will bring their technical skills and experiences to broaden their knowledge on ICT.

“We hope that together we will be able to produce operational recommendation and guidelines for tackling the problems associated with e-learning such as to fight against the abuse of internet.

FCI officials used this interview with the Youth Forum to thank all their anticipated partners, like Comium, Bank PHB, Nice International Gambia Chapter, IEARN, and COMMIT, for showing their interest of supporting the NIC-Net project.

They also extend an open invitation to all stakeholders to support this initiative.
