Wednesday, April 8, 2009

The president, Gambia secondary school sports association, Mr Martin Gomez, has said that nothing was unfair about this year’s inter school athletics championship contrary to claims made by some sports officials.

Mr Gomez was reacting to comments made by Modou Lamin Kujabi the physical education master, Muslim senior secondary school who accused the executive members of the Gambia Secondary school sports association of unfairness during the 2009 inter school athletics championship.

Mr Gomez revealed that, Mr Kujabi’s comments were baseless for the simple reason that he was trying to bring bad blood to the GSSSA and this year’s inter schools athletics championship was the best ever to be held in the history of GSSSA.

He further revealed that Gambia senior secondary school and Sukuta Upper Basic School deserved the victory and thanked the department of state for Basic and secondary education for providing the association finance and Trust Bank for sponsoring the championship.
