One Seku Trawalley was yesterday convicted for stealing one bag of cassava in Brikama Nymbayi by Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh of the Bundung Magistrates Court.
According to the police prosecutor, First Class Jammeh, the convict on January 3 went to the garden of one Peter and stole the cassava. While in the place, he was seen by one Lewis Koria who asked him what he was doing but he replied that the garden belonged to his father.
Prosecutor Jammeh narrated that when Peter was alerted about the incident, he denied knowing Seku. He was arrested and taken to Brikama Police Station where he was charged.
The accused admitted the charges. Subsequently, he was sentenced to one month imprisonment with hard labour, the magistrate further ordered the bag of cassava to be returned to the owner.
