Point Sub Editor Returns from Accra

Mr. Soury Camara, Sub-Editor with The Point Newspaper has finally returned home from Ghana, where he underwent a successful six-week interactive engagement in participatory discussion in core values at organisational, regional, national and global levels.

The duration of the course is five months, which included a two-month preparatory stage at the participants’ home country for service preparation in conceptualisation and preparation of individual practical project that will relate to one among the five modules of the course, prior to the commencement of the training through internet platform global campus 21 for coaching.

However, the thematic modules, which were thoroughly dealt with are crisis prevention and conflict management, global governance, international relations and the African security architecture, governance, private actors and conflict and governance and conflict.

The course also entails a study tour to Togo, Benin and Lagos to various governments, regional and global institutions in order to see and understand some of the underground programmes.

The six weeks training at Kofi Annan Peace Keeping Training Centre, gave the participants an insight into the true world and availed them the opportunity to share common values and identities with experienced experts from Africa and Europe.

Camara thanked the management of The Point Newspaper, without whose invaluable support this trip would not have been possible.

“I am also in no small way erecting my thumb to the German Government and Inwent a German Capacity Building Institution for the logistic support in making the course successful,” he concluded.
