Haggi Jawara, Gambia’s honorary consul to Angola, has described The Gambian leader, Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, as a true Pan-Africanist, expending an untiring effort in the promotion of mutual understanding among nations in Africa.
According to Jawara, the president’s strides have impacted positively on Gambians far in Angola. “We are well treated in Angola,” he said. The Gambia’s honorary consul said he wants President Jammeh to visit Angola, to see for himself the support the Gambian community has for him due to his good leadership. He revealed that he briefly had an encounter with the Angolan president during which they discussed the relationship between the two countries.
However, Mr Jawara appealed to the Immigration department for the timely issuance of national documents to Gambians in Angola, in a bid to further smoothen their movement.
