A Nigerian film producer residing in The Gambia, has added his voice to the chorus of calls proclaiming President Yahya Jammeh as a true democrat.
Kingsley Eze Ngadi, the producer of the Shackles of Love, a film currently being advertised on GRTS, was speaking in response to the Gambian leader’s speech at the National Assembly, officially opening the 2009 legislative year. Kingsley Eze who walked into the offices of the Daily Observer in Bakau called the Gambian leader a "unique and true democratic president."
The president’s hospitable nature and his inclination to the practices of good governance and respect for not only Gambians but the rest of the people living in The Gambia, especially Africans, are what strikes the Nigerian film maker.
"President Jammeh’s words and actions," Kingsley Eze said to this reporter, "are worth emulating. His words, actions and relations to both citizens and non-citizens make him an exemplary leader in Africa and this is what everyone should copy." He pointed at the string of ongoing development programmes across the different sectors of the country like health, education, infrastructure, among others, as what other African leaders are yet to match.
He added that his development efforts along these lines are supposed to be a benchmark for other African leaders fighting in the course of democracy and good living for their people. The Nigerian film maker used the opportunity to convey on behalf of law abiding Nigerians in the The Gambia, their allegiance to the president and government of The Gambia, and he assured Gambians of their readiness to fish out the bad ones "who would like to tarnish and destroy the good relationship that exists between the two countries.’ As a film producer, Kingsley Eze said, he has in the offing a new film entitled the ‘Hero is born.’ This, he said, will be dedicated to the July 22nd Revolution.
Declaring President Jammeh as his role model, Eze advised every Nigerian in The Gambia to be law abiding and to serve as good ambassadors to their host country.
