Saikou Gibba Case Reaches Its ClimaxMonday, October 19, 2009
The ongoing criminal case of giving false information and perjury involving Saikou Gibba, former state witness in the D1.6 million NIA case, has opened his defence at the Bundung Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Olajabutu Kayode. Testifying before the court, the accused Saikou Gibba told the court that he knows Christopher Badjie in March 2008, and has since then become his friend. He stated that he met Christopher Badjie at a panel constituted at the NIA when he was called there, but denied giving a statement to oneYankuba Badjie. When asked by his Defence Counsel, Assan Martin whether he had signed any document, the accused replied in the negative, saying that he has nothing to do with that document. The accused further testified that, he knows one Demba Sowe at the NIA who is now involved in a case at the Bundung Magistrates’ Court. The case continues. Author: Malamin Conteh
