Scorpions Play Gabon Today

All is set for the Scorpions friendly match today with the Black Panthers of Gabon in Paris, senior national team Coach Paul Put said yesterday.

The Belgian coach, who recently succeeded in pinning down a four-year contract with The Gambia’s government, will lead the Scorpions as they face the Blank Panthers who are using the friendly to prepare ahead of their 2010 World and African cup of Nations qualifiersto commence next month.

The scorpions staged their first training session yesterday morning and were expected to attend another session later yesterday.

“The players are very happy to be together and coupled with their good moral everything is possible,” the coach pointed out.

Ebrima Sohna was said to be nursing a slight injury after playing two games with his club in Norway but Coach Put is considering using him despite his attendance at yesterday morning’s training session.

Gambian keeper, Joseph Gomez was said to have arrived in Paris yesterday morning joining his colleagues in a campaign meant to be a market for not only Gambian players but the country’s football at large.

The match is expected to kick off at 3.30pm local time.
