The English Club of Centre de Foundation Professionnelle Commerciale School in Senegal last Friday visited the Observer Company, publisher of the Daily Observer newspaper in Bakau.
The visit is part of the school’s English Club weekend tour of the country. The excursion involved over 50 students. During their visit, the students and some staff of the school were led on a conducted tour by Abdoulie John, deputy editor-in-chief of the Observer newspaper, during which they visited various departments of the company, including the newsroom, the marketing and the printing departments.
They were also fortunate to share their knowledge and experience with the young reporters at the media institution. During the tour, students asked questions to clear their doubts about newspaper business in the country. The visiting group also visited the marketing office where they were introduced to some basic knowledge about marketing and customer care approaches in a business environment.
At the end of the visit, Haruna Bah, head of the visiting students, described their visit to the Observer Company as the most educative among the places they have visited. He expressed delight at the warm welcome accorded to him and his team and further expressed admiration of the friendliness of the staff of Observer Company. He said they are all studying marketing and business. He thanked the Observer management for allowing them to visit the company.
