One Yusupha Sillah was on Thursday dragged before Magistrate BO Jobe of the Bundung Magistrates Court by his sister, Oumie Sillah, for assault.
According to the particulars of the offence, on 20 September 2008 at Sukuta, Yusupha Sillah unlawfully assaulted Oumie Sillah and caused her actual bodily harm. Inspector Mballow, the prosecutor, told the court that on the said day around 2030 hours, the accused, who stays in the same compound with the complainant went to his parents. He met Oumie Sillah, the sister, who was with their parents.
According to the prosecution, Oumie told the accused to leave the place but the accused did not because he was there to see their parents. The prosecutor added that the accused provoked and mocked the sister who later insulted him. This then culminated into a physical combat between the two. The prosecutor revealed that the complained suffered injury to her eyes and other parts of her body.
The accused admitted the facts and was found guilty. Yusupha Sillah begged the court for forgiveness and said “I have made a mistake. She is my sister - the same mother and father.” Magistrate B O Jobe granted the accused bail in the sum of D3000 and adjourned the case to 20 December 2008.
