The Gambia Armed Forces beat Brikama United 2-0 in their week eight meeting yesterday to regain their position at the top of the Gambia Football Association First Division League Table.
Armed Forces were earlier leapfrogged to the top spot by Steve Biko who earlier beat Hawks 1-0 on Wednesday to earn their third successive win. But the Soldiers ran riot at the Father Gough complex in Manjai Kunda to open up a two-point lead on the table. In the day’s other match, Bakau United, who have been on a losing streak recently after a bright start, drew goalless with struggling Tallinding United at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium.
Despite the setback however, the Bakau side maintained their third position in the rankings with 12 points, just two points adrift of neighbours, Steve Biko, who currently occupy the second position with 14 points.
