Sotokoi and Jurunku football teams are the first to book their tickets to the quarter finals of the Upper Nuimi District Tournament.
The Group A pair who are each on seven points, with Sotokoi edging it on goal difference, made it out of the 20 participating teams in the tournament. Both teams shared points during their weekend encounter at the Kabakoto football field after settling for a one all draw.
The remaining six places will be determined over the weekend where a tough battle awaits participating teams from the other groups.
A tough battle awaits defending champions Kerr Mama in their quest to defend this year’s title as they have to sail past notable SotoKoi and Jurunku.
The district tournament is sponsored by Honorable Mam Cherno Jallow, National Assembly Member of the area, and organised by the Upper Niumi Sports Committee. It is geared towards promoting the spirit of competitiveness and development of sports at the grassroots level.
