Sports Masters Speak Out

As preparation intensifies for this year’s inter- schools athletics championship slated for Friday 13 and Saturday 14 March, 2009, at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Sports Masters have spoken out on their state of preparedness in advance of the event. The sports master GambiaSeniorSecondary School, Mr Abdoul Aziz Paul Victor Mendy, said that his athletes were well prepared for this year’s championship and expressed confidence that GSSS will retain the title they won last year.

He revealed that he has the athletes that can retain the championship and that come Saturday they are ready to deliver to expectations.

He appealed to all participating schools to exercise discipline and tolerance during the event.

Speaking on behalf of his Sports Master, Mr Mutarr Fatty said despite Saint Augustine’s absence from the championships for three years due to suspension by the Gambia Senior School Sports Committee for unsportsmanly conduct.

He said that his athletes are ready for the championship and will bring the past glories back to the school.

He revealed that his school will continue to maintain discipline during the championship and assured fans that Saints will be crowned champions for this year.

Babun Fatty, SportsMasterKinderDorfBottropTechnicalSchool in Brikama, said that his athletes were fit for the championship and they were ready for the title race for this year.

He stated that his school has lots of young athletes that can win the championship trophy and he expressed hope that his school will be crowned champions at the event.
