Standard Chartered Finance Head Visits The Gambia

Mr. Mahendra Gursahani, Standard Chartered’s Regional CFO-Middle East, Africa, Europe & Americas and Senior Executive Officer (SEO), DIFC (Dubai), yesterday arrived in Banjul for a 3-day official visit to the bank’s franchise in The Gambia.

During his visit, Mr. Gursahani, who is accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Manjang, the Chief Finance Officer for Africa will hold strategic business meetings with key external stakeholders and the bank’s cadre of management and staff members.

Mr. Gurhasani who has been with Standard Chartered Bank for over 23 years, has worked in various parts of the Group, including India, Australia, Singapore, UK and UAE.

His experience spans Corporate Banking Relationship Management, Credit Risk Management, Corporate Special Asset Management, Group Audit, Risk projects (BASEL II) and a variety of roles in Finance.

Mahendra, who is very committed to the bank’s sustainability initiatives, will spend quality time off his schedule on Tuesday October 13, 2009 to visit the Sheikh Zayed Regional Eye Care Centre, to acquaint himself with progress made on the Standard Chartered nationwide eye-screening and 200 cataract surgeries project.

He will depart Banjul on Wednesday, October 14, 2009.
