Taiwanese Ambassador Meets President Jammeh

The ambassador of the Republic of China on Taiwan His Excellency Richard Shih recently paid a courtesy called on the Gambian leader professor Dr. Alhaji Yahya Jammeh at State House.

Speaking to reporters shortly after his audience with president Jammeh, the head of Taiwanese diplomacy in Banjul revealed that he was at State House to deliver an invitation from his president His Excellency Ma Ying-jeou to his Gambian counterpart professor Yahya A.J.J Jammeh to visit Taiwan.

“I have the honor and pleasure under the instruction of my government to present the letter of invitation from my president Ma Ying-jeou to H.E President Jammeh to invite president of The Gambia to visit Taiwan”, he revealed.

According to the Chief Taiwanese diplomat, President Jammeh has graciously accepted the invitation.

“Part of President Jammeh’s visit will focus on agriculture as he will also visit the best agricultural university in Taiwan”, says ambassador Shih.

Taiwan and The Gambia for many years now enjoyed fruitful and cordial friendly relations with more practical projects in key areas of health, education, agriculture and infrastructure.

President Jammeh’s visit to a country he always referred to as the true and genuine friends of the Gambia will no doubt boost these excellent relations in all aspect.
