Tijan makes debut, Sohna held

On Sunday evening Tijan Jaiteh and Brann Bergen played what usually is the toughest game of the season. Rosenborg were denied any goals, and Brann scored in both ends of the pitch.

After a rather eventless first half, the sides went to halftime at the score 0-0. Brann had created the only scoring chance of the half, but Erik Huseklepp was not able to put the ball behind goalkeeper Alexander Lund Hansen.

Early in the second half, Steffen Iversen played through to Trond Olsen. He tried to move the ball past Bjørn Dahl and the ball caught an unlucky bounce off Dahl's shin and into the net past Håkon Opdal. This was Rosenborg's first scoring-chance of the match. But, like in the previous year, Brann fought their way back into the match and managed to come away with one point from arch-rivals Rosenborg. Erik Huseklepp sent a perfect cross in from the right, and in the box the ball found Kristjan Örn Sigurdsson's head and went into the goal.

In injury time Rosenborg found themselves creating their first chance on their own, but a superb Håkon Opdal saved the shot from Alexander Tettey, and Brann came away with a draw. Tijan Jaiteh came on as a 90th minute substitute for Hassan El Fakiri for his first league apperance of the season. Brann is 12th on the 16 team table with two points from three games two points behind Ebrima Sohna’s 8th place Sandefjord who were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Fredrikstad.
