There has been another setback on the ongoing trial of Ousman Rambo Jatta, the Bakau Old Cape ward councilor who despite the High Court order for his release, is still under detention and thereby failing to appear before the courts.
The case which was resumed on Tuesday before Magistrate Sanyang, was adjourned again to the 14th November following the defence counsel Ousainou Darboe’s submission that his client was still not produced.
It could be recalled that the High court on Tuesday 17th October ordered for the unconditional release of Mr. Jatta who was arrested and detained since September 23rd.
Prior to this development, Rambo was facing trial after being accused of using abusive language that was termed as threat to the peace.
However, since arrested, councilor Jatta has not appeared in court despite requests by the courts for the accused to be produced.
