-Says He has no Hard Feelings

Information reaching this paper has revealed that Dr. Saja Taal, the Managing Director of the Daily Observer Company, has been given his marching orders with effect from yesterday.

Our sources also stated that Dr. Taal has now been replaced by Dida Halake, a columnist with the Daily Observer Company.

At the time of writing this story, we could not ascertain the reason(s) for the sacking of Dr. Taal, who has been the Managing Director of the paper for the past three years.

Meanwhile when contacted for his comment and possible reaction, Dr. Taal confirmed his sacking and said that he is not in any way embittered by the sacking. “I have no hard feelings about it. I am resigned to my fate and whatever occurs is predestined by Allah. I have enjoyed working with everybody at the Observer and I do not harbour any hard feeling towards anybody. I am apologizing to anyone I might have offended in one way or another and I implore them to continue working as a family. And all the media fraternity, I urge them to work in harmony as one family and keep up the good job of disseminating information to the people.”

When asked as to what his future plans are, Dr. Taal revealed that he’s going to maintain his academic interests, to wit continue lecturing at the University of The Gambia where he is a Senior lecturer, and also continue undertaking researches to help the young people whenever his service is need.
