Wisdom Nursery Bids Farewell to Nigerian Envoy

Sunday, July 29, 2007

Pupils of Wisdom Nursery School in Serekunda Bartez recently paid a courtesy visit to the outgoing Nigerian High Commissioner at her Garba Jahumpa Road office in Bakau.
Her Excellency, Madam Mariam Muhammed will, in less than a week’s time, end her tour of duty in The Gambia.

The purposes of the visit were to recognize and appreciate the invaluable support the outgoing Nigerian High Commissioner rendered to the school during her tenure in Banjul.

The Principal and Proprietor of Wisdom Nursery School, Mr. Emmanuel Omorodian alongside pupils and a staff of the school, used the occasion to present a certificate of appreciation and recognition as well as a souvenir to the diplomat.

In her address during the visit, Mrs. Muhammed expressed her desire and wish to adopt Wisdom Nursery School.

According to the diplomat, children are precious gifts from God and therefore need protection and guidance as a way of preparing them for the future challenges.

She however admonished children to be sober in their studies and God-fearing.

Mr. Obasege Okonkwo, the deputy Nigerian High Commissioner to The Gambia, expressed delight in Wisdom Nursery School and prayed for the staves and pupils of the school for continued good health and prosperity.

In reciprocation, Madame Mariam gave the pupils of Wisdom cash to buy refreshments.
Alieu Kambi and Ida Camara, both pupils of Wisdom Nursery School, presented the certificates and the souvenir to Madame Mariam on behalf of the school.
