Politicians Beat Veterans 2-0

As part of the activities marking the 13th Anniversary of the July 22 Revolution, a football match was organised between Politicians and Football Veterans last Sunday at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The well-attended match ended 2-0 in favour of the Politicians.

Two second half goals from Captain Alagie Martin in the 48th and another from Secretary of State for Forestry and Environment; Edward Singhateh was enough for the Politicians to clinch the day.

The Politician team made of Chief of Defense Staff, Brigadier Lang Tombong Tamba, and Secretary of State for Youth Sports and Religious Affairs, Sheikh Omar Faye and other security chiefs dominated the game.
The goalkeeper of the Politicians team, Malick Camara, Saller Sport wears representative in The Gambia, had a quiet encounter as he was not challenged throughout the encounter.

At the end of the encounter the Vice-President and Secretary of State for Women Affairs, Ajaratou Dr. Isatou Njie-Saidy handed over the trophy CDS Brigadier Lang Tombong Tamba, captain of the Politician team.
Some secretaries of State, government offices, party militants and a cross section of sport fans attended the match.
