Twenty female football coaches drawn from various domains in the country will on Friday August 24 commence a three-day basic introduction coaching course at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Sponsored by the Gambia Football Association, in collaboration with the Gambia Football Coaches Association, the training seminar will expose the participants to the B/C coaching manual document which entails the role of a coach, team-building, principles of the game, basic laws of football, basic goalkeeper training and planning of a training session.

Speaking to Observer Sport, Pa Suwareh Faye, President of the Gambia Football Coaches Association, said the training course which is annually organised by the association, is meant to introduce new faces to the basic principles of coaching.

According to him, training course is a necessity for any aspiring coach before they are exposed to other major courses organised by CAF and FIFA.
