The ground is set for the 2007 Gamtel sponsored FA cup semi finals at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
Four teams from the top league namely GPA, Bakau United, Real De Banjul and Hawks would be battling for the second best title in Gambian Football.
Real Vs GPA- Today Friday August 3.
Coach Alagie Sarr-GPA
“My team is well prepare for today’s game, all the players from the U-20 as well as Abdurahaman Dampha, who went to the UK, are back on training and the only absent is Sainey Nyassi, who is currently in America.
Our main problem is that we don’t have training ground, as Banjul Mini Stadium is now full of water.
The inclusion of the players from the National U-20 team would depend on their fitness.
I know the game would not be easy as we drew twice this year in the league but we are really focused as the FA cup is our only hope in this season”.
Assistant Coach Papa Sarr Corr- Real De Banjul
“We are looking for the double this season and for that we are taking today’s game with more seriousness. Our team is really prepare for the game we are very much focus.
Our only problem is that GPA would have all its players of the Gambia U-20 but in another way around we know those players as we have been playing against them for some years now”.
Hawks Vs Bakau United- Sunday August 5
The other semi-final is scheduled to take place on Sunday between the titleholders, Hawks and the 2004 winners, Bakau United.
Like GPA, both Hawks and Bakau United would be looking for the FA Cup to safe their season.
