The Gambia’s first division giants Hawks Football Club will host Linguere FC of St Louis, Dakar, in an international friendly encounter set for Sunday 2nd March 2008 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
The friendly will serve as a testing ground for the Senegalese side who will take part in the CAF Confederation Cup at the group stages after they were crowned the 2007 Senegalese FA cup champions last season in Dakar Senegal.
Both sides met in Dakar on the 16th of February 2008 in Senegal, a game which Linguere won by a goal to nil.
The St Louis side will be traveling to Banjul with their Head Coach Amara Trawally, a former Senegalese player, who also worked with the former Senegalese Assistant Coach Lamin Sarr.
Sarr is said to have played an introductory role in making the friendly encounter a success.
Meanwhile other league fixtures scheduled for Sunday will be postponed due to the friendly encounter.
