150 students from Siffoe Lower Basic School in Kombo South District of the Western Region,yesterday paid a visit to the Observer Company, publisher of the Daily Observer newspaper at its Bakau office.The visit was part of excursion programs conducted by schools which take students to institutions of importance to thier studies, and other places of human interest.
Upon arrival at the Observer premises,the students were led on a conducted tour of the various departments of the company.
Their reason for choosing the Observer among the lot was due to the fact that “it is the leading newspaper in the country, which promotes developement,” says Modou Lamin Fatty, one of the three teachers that accompanied the students. He said that the visit would enable the students to familarise themselves on the operations of the company.
“The Observer is a household name in the country and this particular visit will widen the knowledge of the students as far as it is concerned,” said Fatty.
He then thanked the management and staff of the company for the warm welcom accorded them and promised to make the trip an annual event.
