A Bakoteh resident, Ebrima Leigh, was early last week convicted and sentenced after being found guilty of charges of assault and battery.

Leigh was nabbed by the long arm of the law for knocking one Babucarr Sillah on the forehead thereby causing him actual bodily harm.

He was to pay a court fine of D12,000 and any default in fine payment may mean, he would go to jail for 18 months.

Leigh was also ordered to compensate Sillah with the sum of D2,500 or risk going to prisons for six months.

The case was presided over by magistrate Buba Jawo.
