As planned the 2006 Banjul nawettan Championships ended over the weekend with the finals of the league and Knockout trophies. On Saturday 18th November was the League Final between Digi Dam Bi and Ngoyan at the Banjul Mini Stadium better known as KG5.

Both teams are household names in Banjul Nawettan and their performance in the 2006 Nawettan was not a surprise to soccer fans in the Capital City. The match produced spectacular performance from both sides. The final was decided at the 10th minute when Amat Njai of Digi Dam Bi scored the first and only goal of the Final.

Ngoyan FC tried to come back in the game but their efforts faced a strong opposition from Digi Dam Bi defence.

Two red carded were shown by the central referee ,one for Abdou Njai of Ngoyan and another for Digi Dam Bi goalkeeper. At the end of the game , Digi Dam Bi were awarded a trophy and cash prize of D15, 000 while Ngoyan FC went home with D10,000. The trophy was sponsored by MSTE Printing Press.

Meanwhile the Knockout final was played on Sunday 19th November between Warriors and Macdonald United.

The match ended 1-0 in favour of Macdonald.
