According to Abdou Salam Jammeh, CAF Education and Development Officer, the course would be held from the 1st to the 7th December 2006 and the aim of the course is to improve the standard of refereeing in Africa and encourage strict adherence and interpretation of the laws of the game.

Mr Jammeh added that during the period, CAF instructors would present to the participants’ materials concerning the laws of the game, with some practical sessions.

“The participants will also go through intensive physical and medical examination during the Casablanca training programme,” he revealed.

He pointed out that CAF attaches great importance to training and technical development of referees, coaches and other areas such as sport medicine and football administration.

“The Educational trip to Casablanca of the two Gambian Referees confirmed that commitment,” Mr. Jammeh concluded.
