The National Council for Civil Education (NCCE) last Thursday concluded a one-day workshop on the forthcoming National Assembly elections for security personnel, media practitioners and leading members of the various political parties in the country.
The workshop was held at the Palm Grove Hotel in Banjul.
In his opening remarks on the occasion, the Administrative Secretary of NCCE, Mr Momodou Gassama, said the objective of the workshop was to contribute in sensitizing stakeholders in the forthcoming election to oversee a peaceful, free and fair election.
He added that Gambians should be proud of the resounding success registered in the last presidential election.
Nonetheless, he said, “the importance of training and sensitization on national elections cannot be over-emphasised”.
He further said that due to the commitment made by President Yahya Jammeh coupled with the high degree of professionalism by the security personnel and the effective sensitization by the NCCE, the nation will witness a free and fair National Assembly election.
