GNOC names new deputy director

Mr Lawrence Bruce, commonly known as Law has assumed office as the new Deputy Executive Director of the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC), a press release issued by the National Olympic Committee has revealed.

Bruce appointment marked a new dawn for the Gambia National Olympic Committee, who for the first time gets a Deputy Executive Director.

Mr Bruce comes to the organisation with thirteen challenging years of laudable career in management development, which is very much anchored to the education sector development programmes.   Studied in the United States of America and Scotland , he holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Management with a post graduate degree in Development Management from Glasgow .   As a staunch and dedicated sportsman, Mr Bruce is very much active in tennis and football and currently serves as an executive member of The Gambia Tennis Association.  

With his attributes in strategic planning and strong programme implementation background, Bruce will no doubt offer the National Olympic Committee and the Sports fraternity new insights into strengthening and promoting Olympism in The Gambia.

GNOC has Mr Abou Dandeh Njie as its President, while Ms Beatrice Allen and Mr Fred Lloyd-Evans serve as First and Second Vice-Presidents, respectively.

Mr George Gomez serves as the Executive Director, while Abdoulie Touray and Louise Sarkis serve as the Secretary-General and Treasurer respectively

Its bureau members include Ms Mary Samba-Christenson, Mr Dodou Joof, Mr AAB Njie, Mr Jammeh Bojang, Mr Sait Mbye, Mr Geoffrey Renner and Mrs Fatou Juka Jabang.
