Imam Gaye distributes Ramadan gifts

Imam Tafsir Gaye, a reverred Islamic scholar, on Sunday, distributed bags of sugar and rice to the needy at his residence in Banjul.

The beneficiaries included nursery schools of Alhaji Abdou Saho of 46 Lancaster Street, who was represented by Alhagi Saho, King Fahd Mosque,  represented by Oustaz Alfa Bah and Darra Ham Hamleh of 11 Gloucester Street, represented by Alieu Njie. 

The Ramadan gifts were provided by President Yahya Jammeh, through the Supreme Islamic Council.

The New Muslim Society, the Lebanese Community, the Muslim Hands, George Madi, and Hasib Massry, Consular of Lebanon to The Gambia, also provided a proportion of the distributed gifts.

At the ceremony, Imam Tafsir Gaye, expressed gratitude to President Jammeh for his compassion for Muslims and then prayed for peace and prosperity in The Gambia.

Imam Gaye, expressed hope that charity continues for the benefit of the whole community.

He extended gratitude to the Lebanese Community, George Madi, the Muslim Hands, and Hasib Massry for the gesture.
