Civil Servant Gets One Month

A civil servant was early this week convicted and sentenced to serve one month in prison after being found guilty of assault charges. He was left with the alternative of paying a court fine of D1500. Ousman Darboe was arraigned before magistrate Kayeodi of the Banjul Magistrates’ Court for head-butting one Sheriff Jarju at the Banjul free port and, as a result, injured him on the mouth.
