Pierre Jallow gets new club

Friday, February 23, 2007
Hume City Broncos Championship Mens squad has been finalised for 2007 with the signing of Gambian Import `Pierre Jallow'. Currently playing in the Estonian League and ranking 3rd in points shot and 2nd in rebounds, Jallow will add spark to the already talented line up that will hit the floor and be a certain contender for the 2007 titlte.

Pierre started his sporting career as a volleyballer but was soon swooped up by the College Basketball coaches in Missouri when he moved there from Banjul. He was keener on obtaining a good education before his sporting interests and has succeeded in both. He played college ball in the States before playing professionally in the UK. In 2005/06 season he was on the roster for Townsville and McKay in the QABL.

Hume Coach Kevin Fleming is excited about his inclusion as he will bring height and smarts to the team and with other giants like Spears, Smith, Collins and McIntosh to work with can only make the game plan fall into place.

BBA President, Terri Sutton, said "We have not signed an `Import' since joining the BigV in 2004 because we were quite happy with our current squad along with the inclusion of our local junior talent that is progressing through the team. "However, it has become apparent that to stay competitive within this League, we will, in 2007 include Pierre Jallow in our roster."

"We are all very keen to give the title a shot again having taken it in 04 and feel that this years contingent can be there."
