Mohammedan Lower Basic School in Banjul is the latest among the schools in The Gambia to have benefited from the philanthropist gesture of Friends of Gambian Schools (FROGS).
A UK charity working in The Gambia for the advancement of the education sector, FROGS recently donated 40 sets of tables and 50 benches which furnished three grade one classrooms.
According to Mrs. Sally Reader, (FROGS) coordinator in The Gambia, the furniture cost D38, 000.
Mrs. Reader said her organization had enjoyed long and close relationship with Mohammedan School of 1,200 pupils.
“During our relationship with the school, FROGS has set up a comprehensive school library and has furnished the staff room and the office of the headmaster,” she said.
According to the school’s authorities, the FROGS support was facilitated by a request made by the headmaster of the school, Mr. Alhajie Cham.
Mr. Cham, in his remarks, profoundly thanked FROGS for their invaluable support to the school.
