Gambia Play Luxembourg Today

The Gambia senior squad, the Scorpions, will play a friendly international against Luxemburg today Wednesday 7th February 2007 in Luxembourg.

The Luxembourg Football Association has accepted coach Toney Hey request for an international friendly against little Gambia today.

The match is expected to bring for the first time all the members of the scorpions together since Antoine Hey took over the reigns.

It will also mark the first ever friendly, the Gambia plays against European opposition.

According to coach Hey today’s friendly in part of the senior national team preparation for the Africa Nations qualifiers match against Guinea Conakry on March 25 in Banjul.

“All the players want to play test games and it is the only way of testing ourselves and the players available. This is the most important team in the country and we don’t want to loose the chance to qualify” Tony concluded.

The team arrived on Tuesday the 6th and departs on Thursday the 8th.
