Scorpions foreign legion hit town

No less than 14 of Gambia's foreign-based professionals have trooped into town ahead of this weekend's African Nations Cup qualifier against Guinea in Banjul.

The latest to jet in were goalkeeper Pa Dembo Touray, striker Njogu Demba, Kamal Ndow, Edrissa Sonko, Mustapha Sarr, Pa Modou Jagne and Pa Saikou Kujabi.

The earliest to get into the country were striker Pa Amadou Gai Assan Jatta, midfielder Mustapha Jarju, goalkeeper Musa Bajaha, defender Lamin Conateh, mid-fielder Dawda Bah, defender Abdoulie Corr, and Azziz Corr, who arrived since last Sunday.

The rest of the troops are expected to trickle in today to make a full-house. Expected to jet in is skipper Jatto Ceesay, Ebou Sillah and Gambia’s only England based player, Sefo Soley.

Meanwhile, Observer Sports has reliably learnt that the Sylli Nationals of Guinea will arrive in the country today. The Guinean team is expected to receive mass support from the numerous Guinean nationals residing in the country in an additional purported 1,500 fans that are in Senegal awaiting to arrive before Saturday.
