Viviane Ndour, the Queen of Mbalax in Senegal yesterday called on Dr Aja Isatou Njie-Saidy, Vice President and Secretary of State for Women’s Affiars at her office at State House, Banjul. Speaking to reporters soon after her audience with Vice President Njie-Saidy, Viviane Ndour said The Gambia is her country as we share many things in common with her native country of Senegal.

“Gambia is my country. I cannot come and go without visiting the Vice President or top government officials. They have opened their doors to me,” she said.
She expressed appreciation to Gambians for the support they offered to her saying, “Gambians like me and what I do. This is manifested both in the country and outside the country. They really love me and always attend my programmes.”

On Gambia-Senegal relations, Viviane Ndour said the two countries are the same and prayed for existing peace and stability in the two countries. She also thanked The Gambia Ports Authority for inviting her to The Gambia to perform, describing it as a good move.
