GU Meets Secy for Tourism and Culture

Global Unification (GU), an international research and development association with affiliated chapters in Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia, recently paid a courtesy call on the Secretary of State for Tourism and Culture, Mrs. Angella Colley, at her office in Banjul.

The GU has been established to facilitate the process of unification and advancement of humanity in Africa and other developing countries.

In his speech on the occasion, Mr. Ebrima S. Dem, the acting National Coordinator of GU, said the association would work closely with other youth groups, civil societies, NGOs, learning institutions, the private sector and other international bodies to foster development and progress among young people.

“This organisation is aimed at bringing young people at the forefront in the struggle for the realization of a united Africa,” he said, adding that Global Unification also works towards the promotion and development of women and children.

Mr. Dem thanked the Gambia government and the Department of State for Tourism and Culture for their active collaboration with his organisation.

For her part, the Secretary of State for Tourism and Culture, Angella Colley, thanked the delegation and promised to work hand in hand with the GU executives.

She lauded the mission and vision of the association, saying: “The association is paramount to national development and, by the grace of Allah, my department will give you all the necessary support.”
