The Gambia Armed forces wish to inform the general public that the office of the Chief of Defence Staff located at No 3 Marina Parade in Banjul would now be referred to as the Defence Headquarters Gambia Armed Forces and not Headquarters Gambia Armed Forces as was previously referred to. Similarly, the Joint Headquarters that hosts the offices of the three service chiefs (chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff and Chief of National Guard Staff) located at No 7 Marina Parade in Banjul would herein be referred to as Joint Services Headquarters.

This change of nomenclature is aimed at bringing the Gambia Armed Forces in line with modern concepts of military operations within and outside the region.

The understanding of the general public is highly solicited. All are urged to acquaint themselves with the new names.
