Jammeh receives Tun Diam Zainuddin

The Gambian leader, President Yahya Jammeh on Thursday received at State House, Tun Diam Zainuddin, former Malaysian Finance Minister and founder of International Commercial Bank.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after his audience with the Gambian leader, Tun Diam Zainuddin said his mission, was meant to wish President Jammeh a happy belated birthday.

According to him, he spoke to President Jammeh on his plans to build the headquarters of the International Commercial Bank, the permission of which was granted by the Gambian leader.

Mr. Tun Diam Zainuddin further disclosed that he had discussions with President Jammeh for the allocation of a plot of land for a housing project, to be sold to foreigners.

According to him, this request is also granted and the project which costs 250 million pounds will be launched next year in March. Mr. Tun Diam Zainuddin added that he’s impressed with the investment climate in The Gambia.

He then concluded that plans are in the offing to invest in the tourism by building a hotel in The Gambia.
