Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Sidati, the Mauritanian Ambassador to The Gambia, has ended his three-year mission in The Gambia.

In an interview with this paper, the Mauritanian envoy said: “I have excellent impressions of The Gambia. During my stay, cooperation between The Gambia and Mauritania has been reinforced in many areas. We have signed nine agreements in bilateral cooperation, and the two governments will apply the agreements during the fourth session of the Gambian Mauritanian Commission.

“We also have cultural agreements. Mauritania built a cultural complex in The Gambia in 1992. Mauritania has provided 18 teachers and nine lecturers in the field of education.”
He said a large community of Mauritanians are residing in The Gambia, doing business and participating in the socio-economic development.

“I have high regard for Gambians and President Yahya Jammeh who has vision to develop the country.”
He went on to thank the president for the high regards he has given him and the Mauritanian authorities. He was also thankful for the gift President Jammeh presented him on his visit at State House yesterday.

Ambassador Sidati will leave Banjul next week for Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, his next duty station.
