The presiding magistrate in the ongoing trial of the former Director of Prisons, David Colley, yesterday refused the accused bail again following defence counsel’s application for his bail for the second time.
Magistrate B.Y Camara ruled that the accused could not be granted bail at that point in time as the prosecutor claimed his bail would affect the investigations which, the prosecutor maintained, were still ongoing.
The defense counsel, Antouman Gaye, advanced five points to support his claim as to why his client should be granted bail, citing that the offence said to be committed is bailable. He further adduced that there is no reason at hand that the accused is going to interfere with the ongoing investigations.
The case was at that point adjourned to Thursday, 5th July for continuation.
